On 12/02/2019 the Hicksville Police Department and Antwerp Police Department conducted a joint investigation into a break-in that occurred on November 14th, 2019 at the Sunoco G-Mart in the Village of Antwerp. As a result of the investigation Antwerp Police Department charged James Prescott, age 24, of Hicksville, Ohio with Receiving Stolen Property a Felony 5th degree. On 12/02/2019 Prescott was arrested on the warrant for Receiving Stolen Property by the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office.
As a result of the arrest of Prescott a Search Warrant was executed at 208 W. High Street, in the Village of Hicksville, Defiance County Ohio by the Hicksville Police Department, Antwerp Police Department, and the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office. Several drug related items and several related items to the break-in were located at the residence. Additional items related to thefts in the Village of Hicksville were also recovered during the execution of the search warrant.
The joint investigation has revealed multiple suspects involved in the area thefts and all reports will be forwarded to the Defiance County Prosecutors Office and Paulding County Prosecutors Office for review of charges to be presented to a Grand Jury.
Prescott is being held in the Paulding County Jail and will appear in Paulding County Court on 12/4/2019.
