Delphos – The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle injury crash which occurred on 5th St in Delphos, in Allen County.
On December 10th, 2019, at approximately 8:08 P.M., troopers responded to a report of a two vehicle injury crash involving a school bus. Earline Williams, age 85, of Delphos, was driving a 2015 Buick Encore, when she failed to yield from a private drive while making a right turn and pulled into the path of the school bus. Drew Wertenberger, age 46, of Delphos, was operating a 2009 Blue Bird School Bus form Delphos City Schools while traveling west on 5th St.
Earline Williams and her passenger John Williams, age 87, also of Delphos, were transported by Delphos Fire and EMS with minor injuries to St. Rita’s Hospital. Mr. Wertenberger claimed no injuries at the time of the crash. Deborah Stetler, age 59, of Delphos, was on the school bus and claimed no injuries. There were 15 students on the bus returning from a sporting event, they also all claimed no injuries at the scene.
It is believed Earline Williams was not wearing a safety belt. The Lima Post was assisted on scene by Delphos Police Department along with Delphos Fire and EMS. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to always wear a properly adjusted seatbelt.
