Two vehicle injury crash in Defiance County
Defiance – The Defiance Post is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on US 24 at Jewell Rd, near milepost 30. The crash happened at 5:36 PM in Richland Township, Defiance County. A 2012 Dodge Avenger was traveling southeast attempting to cross US 24 at Jewell Rd. A 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling northeast on US 24. The Dodge Avenger failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck by the Chevrolet Trailblazer. The Dodge Avenger then traveled off the roadway striking a traffic sign and a tree. The Chevrolet Trailblazer traveled off the roadway and overturned.
The driver of the Dodge Avenger, Julia Vore, age 16, of Defiance was taken to Defiance Regional and the passenger, Mackenzie Biliti, age 16, of Defiance was flown to Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo by Mercy Life Flight. The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Thomas Kaczynski, age 64, of Napoleon was transported to Defiance Regional and the passenger, Tammy Wright, age 55, of Napoleon was flown to Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo by Mercy Life Flight. All the occupants were wearing safety belts.
Assisting on the scene were the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, Jewell Twp Fire and Rescue, Richland Twp Fire and EMS, and Mercy Life Flight.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol encourages drivers and occupants to always wear their safety belts, and to never drive distracted or impaired.

Two vehicle injury crash in Defiance County
Defiance – The Defiance Post is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on Domersville Rd and Behrens Rd in Adams Township. The crash happened at 2:22 PM and involved a 2009 Saturn Aura and a 2009 Chevrolet HHR. The Chevrolet HHR was traveling southbound on Domersville Rd. The Saturn Aura was traveling northbound on Domersville Rd and failed to yield while attempting a left turn onto Behrens Rd. Both vehicles were then forced off the roadway.
The driver of the Saturn Aura, Emily Meyer, age 16, of Defiance and the passenger, Collin Meyer, age 14, of Defiance were both taken to Defiance Regional. The driver of the Chevrolet HHR, Tabitha Morales, age 41, of Archbold, was also taken to Defiance Regional. All the occupants were wearing safety belts.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, Jewell Twp Fire and Rescue, Defiance County Fire and EMS, and South Richland Fire and Rescue.
