The Paulding County Economic Development office has made the tough decision to cancel our annual PCED Career Day High School Showcase event that would have taken place on April 7 this year. We held this decision off as long as we could hoping we might be able to still host this event. With the current quarantine ending just the day before the planned event, and with the uncertainty beyond, the schools believe the best fit for students, if allowed to return to school, will be in the classroom. Thank you to all manufacturing, service and post graduate school groups that were working with us and planning to attend.
The PCED office will continue to share information back and forth with businesses needing employees, the Ohio Means Jobs office, and anyone looking for summer, part time and full time employment. It will take some time to understand where the economy will be immediately, but as this becomes clear again we will keep the communication flowing.
Our office is certainly willing and ready to help any county business to understand current benefits legislation, unemployment and small business help being offered. We may not have an immediate response but will work with you to find an answer. If there is anything you need from us please do not hesitate to reach out 419-399-8282.
