Despite the brisk temperatures and blustery winds on Wednesday, April 14, a host of volunteers showed up to hand out meals to New Haven (EACS) and the surrounding community’s students. Meals are distributed from 2:00-6:00 p.m. each Tuesday. In addition, there are as many volunteers who spend each Monday preparing and assembling the meals. This needed and well-orchestrated service will continue through the end of the scheduled school year.
A huge recognition goes out to all the volunteers who make this happen each week, as well as to the businesses who have provided donations to assist in this process. Walgreens of New Haven and Meijer at Chapel Ridge have donated t-shirt bags which are used to assemble and distribute multiple cartons of milk. Also, much appreciation from the volunteers goes out to Papa John’s on Coldwater Road which has generously been providing pizza and dessert for all of the workers.
