The 73rd annual Harlan Days Festival will take place this summer on August 6, 7 and 8. In accordance with Governor Holcomb’s ‘roadmap’ to reopen Indiana we anticipate fairs and festivals will be allowed to resume in the coming months. Harlan Days will abide by all precautions set in place by the Indiana legislature. Come early August, if you long for normalcy and some fun outside of the house, head to Harlan!
You can anticipate a full line up of outdoor festival fun, including amusement rides, sporting tourneys and arena events. The party starts Thursday evening with free live music returning to the old stage from local legends ‘Fansler Kid’. The summer’s night sky will be lit up on Friday evening with a belated, but nonetheless massive and spectacular fireworks show celebrating our nation’s freedom. We are planning the biggest firework show in fair history, do not miss it! Last but not least, mark your calendar for the Saturday night main event Demo Derby Car Racing. The action promises to be fast, loud and nonstop. This summer’s fair on August 6, 7 and 8 will not disappoint!
In Harlan, we are prayerfully optimistic that come August those who are in good health will be ready to step back out into the world once again to smile, socialize and celebrate. The volunteers of Harlan believe this festival is our obligation and that we are blessed to once again host this annual celebration of thankfulness, God willing and the creek don’t rise.
