On June 16th, a resident reported that they saw a door to door salesman on Kroos Drive, the officer located the individual and explained that a permit was needed in order to sell door to door.
On June 15th, a resident reported that she believed her teenage daughter had run away. The officers located the daughter and returned her home.
On June 13th, officers arrested an individual on Main St. in reference to a warrant.
On June 12th, a resident reported theft of items from his yard. The case was investigated, the items were located and returned to the owner.
On June 11th, officers found an open door at an empty residence. The owner of the property was contacted and the residence was secured.
On June 11th, a cell phone was turned in to the Antwerp police department. The phone had been found along the roadway. The owner of the phone was located and the phone was returned.
On June 11th, officers presented four cases at the Paulding County grand jury. Indictments were received for those cases.
On June 11th, a business owner reported that a vehicle was parked in front of his trash dumpster. It was requested that officers find the owner of the vehicle, so the trash could be dumped. The owner was located and the vehicle was moved.
On June 10th, Paulding County Senior Center requested officers do a welfare check on a resident. Paulding County Senior Center could not contact the resident at her home. The officer went and made sure the resident was okay.
On June 8th, a resident reported a road rage incident that had occurred out in the county. An upset driver had followed the resident all the way home, the officer took the information and also had the resident contact the Paulding County Sheriff’s office to report what had happened out in the county.
On June 9th, officers went to the Paulding County Jail, and interviewed an inmate in reference to a theft case that had occurred in the village.
On June 7th, it was reported that an individual was going to attempt suicide with a knife. The officer responded, obtained the knife and assisted with the individual going to the Defiance Hospital. The officer also purchased gas for a family member so they could go to the hospital with the individual.
On June 7th, a person reported that they believed their purse had been stolen from their vehicle while it was parked on the south side of the village. The case was investigated and the purse was located at the resident’s home in Napoleon, Ohio.
On June 7th, it was reported that a dog was left unattended in a vehicle at Dollar General. As the officer responded, the owner of the dog was entering the vehicle. The owner claimed they were only in the store for a short time and would take their dog home and get it some water.
On June 6th, a business owner reported a suspicious vehicle sitting in the parking lot on West River St. the officer responded, spoke with the vehicle’s owner and then notified the business owner.
On June 3rd, a business owner reported that they terminated an employee and had requested the employee return items including the key to the store. The employee had refused, the officer was requested to assist and retrieve the items. The officer went to the address, retrieved the items and returned the store to return the items.
On June 15th, officers saw the “tomato heister” from a year ago. Officers stopped and asked him how he was doing, officers then asked if he had any tomatoes. His reply was “ Are you looking for green ones or red ones?”
