Latty Township – On August 4, 2020 at approximately 6:28 P.M., Troopers from the Van Wert Post responded to an injury crash at the intersection of US 127 and Township Road 72 in Latty Township, in Paulding County.
Daniel Sinn, age 21, of Haviland, Ohio was driving a 2019 Ford F-550 southbound on US 127. Ronald Bendele, age 48, of Haviland, Ohio was driving a 2008 Ford Escape southbound on US 127 and was stopped in the roadway waiting to turn left onto Township Road 72. Diego Lopez, age 25, of Paulding, Ohio was driving a 2013 Dodge Dart northbound on US 127. Sinn rear-ended Bendele and pushed Bendele into the northbound lane where he was struck by Lopez. Bendele was transported by Scott EMS to Paulding Hospital. Sinn and Lopez did not claim injury.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department, Scott Fire Department, Scott EMS, Gideon’s Towing Service and R&O Towing Service.
The crash remains under investigation.
