The Paulding County Bicentennial committee ran two articles the past few weeks in West Bend News entitled “An Escaped Slave’s Journey to Paulding County”. The committee never expected the response they received from this posting of our county’s history! Descendants of the Phillips family saw the first installment of the article on West Bend News’ Facebook page, and reached out to the West Bend News office. They provided us with a photograph of some of the descendants of the family holding a picture of Lloyd and Georgiana Phillips. Pictured here (l-r) are Joy Moore, Larry Tinker, Vianda Tinker, and Brett Penager. Joy, Brett and Larry are all great-great-grandchildren of Lloyd and Georgiana Phillips.
