Heath Carter – Ms. Ashworth & Mrs. Overmyer’s Kindergarten Class
Heath has a heart like Jesus. Heath comes to class early each morning. During that time, he always asks what he can do to help out. When given a task to do to help out, he completes it with a big smile. Heath also cares about each and every individual. He hugs each adult upon entering he classroom and talks to everyone. When students are having a bad day, Heath always reassures them that it will be ok. He stands next to them until they are feeling better, and he hugs his fellow classmates to show he cares. Heath enjoys telling very explicit stories so that he can cheer others up and keep their attention. He’s funny, caring, and compassionate. Heath makes us smile each day with his sense of humor. He also has an imagination which makes him more enjoyable to talk to. Heath goes out if his way to help out when he can. Before leaving for Christmas break, he took it upon himself to sweep and mop our classroom just to help out. He does a fabulous job. Keep up the great work Heath. I am proud of you. Ms. A.
Brisa Chavez – Mrs. Bradbury’s 5th & 6th Grade Class
Brisa Chavez is one of the most kind and caring people in our classroom. She is always the first person to notice if someone is sad or upset. I have witnessed her move her bookbag in order to make room for someone else’s, let others go in front of her to get supplies, and offer to let someone use some of her supplies when they can’t find theirs. When we were cutting and gluing a project and she finished early, she went to another student’s desk to help him glue and get his project done. I have never heard Brisa say anything that is unkind and she is always a friend to everyone.
Columbia Dempsey – Mrs. Bradbury’s 5th & 6th Grade Class
I would like to nominate Columbia Dempsey for the Servant’s Heart Award. Almost everyday Columbia is doing things for others. When someone needs help, spills something, or just needs some encouragement she is the first to volunteer her time. She always holds the door open for our class even if she is almost at the end of the line and most of the students have already run out the door letting it nearly shut on the person behind them. When we got a new student in our classroom, Columbia made him a welcome sign for his desk. When I asked each student to color a picture for nursing home residents, Columbia asked if she could color two. Columbia truly has a servant’s heart and I am so proud of how thoughtful she is.
