On January 29, a nurse from Interim Healthcare requested an officer to do a welfare check on a patient. The officer went to the residence and verified the person was okay and reported back to the nurse.
On January 29, a water main break was reported on Kroos Dr. The Officer found the water pouring out of the manhole cover and then contacted the Village Administrator.
On February 3, one of the local businesses received a fake $5 bill. The Police Dept. obtained the counterfeit bill.
On February 3, a resident received a letter from Ohio Job and Family Workers Compensation telling her that she was receiving unemployment benefits. The officer provided her with a packet of information in reference to contacting the Attorney General’s office and BWC.
On February 4, a disturbance was reported at the Antwerp Police Dept. The officers arrived and found that one of the individuals had already left. The officer obtained statements, prepared a report and forwarded it to the Paulding County Prosecutor.
On February 4, a resident contacted the Police Dept to unlock a vehicle. The officer went to the residence and unlocked the vehicle.
On February 5, it was reported that a semi-truck slid off the road on Road 21. The Antwerp Police contacted the Paulding County Sheriff’s office.
On February 5, the Antwerp School made a report with the Police Dept. in reference to a driver that ran the stop sign arm of a school bus. The driver was contacted and cited.
On February 5, a business owner requested nightly security checks on their business while it is being renovated.
On February 5, the Police Dept. was requested to keep the peace on Buffalo St. for a person moving out of a residence while taking their belongings.
On February 7, a resident reported that she was receiving unwanted messages from an individual on Facebook Messenger. The officer investigated and found that the individual was not receiving the messages as stated, but rather a friend was receiving them that the complainant was cheating on her boyfriend. The officer recommend that she unfriend the suspect.
On February 9, the Crisis Center in Defiance called in reference to a person from Antwerp who had called and made suicidal threats. The Police Department was asked to make a welfare check on the individual. The police department reported back to the Crisis Center. The individual had already gone to the hospital for help.
On February 10, a person from the Antwerp Library called the Village Administrator stating that the parents who picked up their children at the bus stop were then doing donuts in the Library parking lot. The parking lot is now being monitored for such activity.
On February 10, a resident of the Park Avenue Villas reported that she was receiving unwanted text messages and emails from the same suspect that the Antwerp Police department had arrested previously for trespassing. He is currently out on bond. The court was notified and the prosecutor’s office was sent the report.
On February 11, a man contacted the Police Department in reference to having his property returned. He was a prior defendant in the G-Mart break-in. He wanted his items back. He said the court was releasing his items. The Police Dept. had not received the notification.
