The Village of Payne’s Safe Route to School Grant is set to begin in the next few weeks. If everything goes according to schedule a surveyor will be in the area on 04/30/2021 with construction set to begin on 05/05/2021. Up to $266,000 Grant will repair or install sidewalks on W Townline, W Oak, and W Merrin. Property owners should be prepared for construction crews to be in the area working, and if possible asked to park their vehicles off the roadway. Construction crews are advised to have minimal contact with the homeowners property past the sidewalks, and will attempt to stay primarily in the Village right-of-way. Clean up will happen after sidewalks are installed and grass, and a few trees on certain properties, will be replanted.
