Visiting Wauseon scored in five of seven innings as the Lady Indians posted a 9-3 win over host Antwerp Monday in non-league softball action.
Wauseon scored once in the first before adding two more each in the second and third to seize a 5-0 advantage.
After the Lady Archers plated two runs in the bottom of the fourth, the Lady Indians scored twice in the fifth and sixth to expand the lead to 9-2. Antwerp then wrapped up the scoring with a single run in the bottom of the sixth.
Macee Schang picked up the win for the Indians, fanning 19 Archer hitters while giving up only one hit, three walks and three runs (one earned).
Payton Albright had a single and a home run with two runs scored and two runs batted in for the Lady Indians. Alexis Haury added three doubles and a single while scoring once and posting two RBI’s. Chelsie Raabe chipped in two doubles with two runs scored and a run batted in while Jettie Burget finished with a single and a double.
Brianna Hays, Macee Schang and Olivia Gigax all had one hit for Wauseon.
Samantha Rigsby had the lone single for the Lady Archers.
Lydia Krouse suffered the loss for Antwerp, allowing five hits and five earned runs with one strikeout. Emerson Litzenberg tossed four frames, surrendering six hits, four earned runs and one walk while fanning one.
