Kasey Hacker donated boxes of new books to the Antwerp United Methodist Church for foster children program. Kara Eicher, who recently became a court CASA representative, accepted the books for a fundraiser that Kasey worked on with her company. She is employed as a literacy coach and senior Team Leader with Usborne Books and More (UBAM). The program raised $520 for the Mindful Kids book drive and the company matched up to 50%. She was able to donate $780 in books.
The books teach foster children how important they are and that the problems they may be experiencing are not because of them. “I saw her (Kara) announce the ministry and reached out to help! Book needs are so underrated sometimes and especially for kids in foster care, moving place to place. My parents are foster parents so it’s a cause near to my heart,” stated Kasey
Kara Eicher started the program at the church to work with Job and Family Services. They have basic necessities for children that need supplies immediately. This book program will be added to provide support and help these young people.
