Central Noble amassed 427 rushing yards and the Cougars cruised to a 42-16 win over Woodlan Friday night in high school football action outside of Woodburn.
The Cougars were paced by senior Will Hoover, who ran for 231 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries in the contest.
Hoover opened the game with a 41-yard touchdown run for a 7-0 Central Noble lead less than three minutes into the contest.
Woodlan tied the game at 7-7 when Landin Golden returned an interception 63-yards for a touchdown with 6:25 left in the opening stanza.
The Warriors went on top 9-7 thanks to a bad snap on a Central Noble punt attempt that was recovered in the endzone by Cougar punter Aiden Dreibelbis.
However, the Cougars quickly responded. Thanks to an Ashton Dunlap fumble recovery at midfield, Central Noble drove the field and capped off the drive with a 17-yard touchdown run by Hoover that put the Cougars on top 14-9.
Tyler Shisler capped the next Central Noble possession with a 23-yard scamper for a score that extended the margin to 21-9.
Following a Woodlan turnover, the Cougars put together a 59-yard scoring drive that was capped by a Smith nine-yard touchdown run for a 28-9 advantage.
Tyler Shisler added 78 yards on seven tries with one touchdown for Central Noble with Chase Spencer posting 49 yards on nine attempts. Ashton Smith also had 44 yards over five carries with a touchdown.
