101 Bowl is the fourth business the Woodburn Main Street Organization is putting in the spotlight this year. It is located along Indiana Highway 101 in downtown Woodburn, 260-632-1018. You can also find 101 Bowl on Facebook. There are 8 lanes available for league bowlers and for open bowling. It also hosts multiple tournaments.
The original bowling center was built in 1954. The building had been the garage and storage building for the hardware for many years. Before that the building had been a commercial garage. The building needed a great deal of work done to it in order to make it a working bowling alley. In order to raise funds for the project the organizing committee decided to incorporate and sell shares to any interested party. The shares sold for $10 each.
101 Bowl is currently owned and operated by Dustin Sarrazine and Jeni Jones. Dustin and Jeni purchased and re-opened the facility in July 2012 after it had been shut down for a year.
Major improvements were made to the bowling center in 2012. The pinsetter machines were refurbished, the wood lanes and approaches were cut and refinished, the concourse was remodeled and a new touch screen automatic scoring system was installed. The center also has glow lights and cosmic bowling lights.
The entire 101 Bowl facility can be rented for parties, events, and fundraisers. All lanes are available with bumper bowling for the little ones.
