The Paulding County Board of Elections purcvhased a new voting equipment system from Election Systems and Solutions Inc. in 2019 with allocated state funding. The voting system is a paper ballot system and has been used in the November 2019 General Election, March 2020 Primary Election, and November 2020 General Election. Every regular voter will mark their ballot and then scan their ballot through an optical scanner. Voters with disabilities will mark their ballot on an Express Vote unit, a marking device and scan their ballot through the optical scanner.
All people who are not registered and wish to vote in the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, November 2nd, must register by Monday, October 4th. You may register online at VoteOhio.gov; the Paulding County office website (https://www.ohio.boe.gov/Paulding) or at one of the following offices:
Paulding County Board of Elections, 105 East Perry Street, Paulding; any other Ohio County Board of Elections; Office of any Deputy Registrar of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; Public libraries; Public High Schools; Vocational Schools;
County Health Depts.; County Treasurer’s Office; or Office of Secretary of State website (https://www.ohiosos.gov).
Office hours for the Paulding County Board of Elections are: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Extended office hours on Monday, October 4th are 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., the voter registration deadline for the November 2nd General Election.
Have you moved or changed your name since the last time you voted? If so, you should change your address and/or name online at MyVoteOhio.gov or by completing a voter registration form at the above listed designated agencies. The deadline is Monday, October 4th. Should you wish to register at the Paulding County Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Paulding; hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
You are qualified to vote if:
• You are a citizen of the United States.
• You will be at least 18 years old on or before November 2nd, Election Day.
• You will be a resident of Ohio for at least 30 days immediately before the election in which you want to vote.
• You are not incarcerated (in prison) for a felony conviction under the laws of this state, or another state of the United States.
• You have not been declared incompetent for voting purposes by a probate court.
• You have not been permanently disfranchised for violations of the election laws.
You are eligible to vote in elections conducted in your voting precinct more than 30 consecutive days after you are properly registered to vote in the State of Ohio.
