Antwerp saw its season come to a close on Thursday as the Lady Archers were swept by host Hicksville in Division IV sectional final volleyball action.
The Lady Aces captured game one 25-15 before taking the second set 25-20. Hicksville then cruised to a 25-13 win to conclude the match.
Astianna Coppes picked up 14 digs while recording eight slams to go along with two aces and one assist. Lydia Brewer dished out a dozen assists and added seven digs with two kills. Maddy Peters recorded seven assists, four digs and an ace while Grace Schuette posted five digs, four kills and two blocks.
Also contributing for Antwerp were Faith Nestleroad (five kills, two digs), Emma Townley (11 digs, two aces), Maddy Peters (seven assists, four digs, one ace), Jillian Treece (four digs, two kills, one ace) and Katryna Fish (two kills).
In the semifinals, Antwerp recorded a straight set victory over Stryker by scores of 25-20, 25-16 and 25-23.
The Lady Archers were led by Coppes with 18 digs, eight kills, six aces, one assist and one block. Maddy Peters dished out 16 assists with three aces and five digs.
Grace Schuette chipped in seven digs, four kills, one ace and one assist and Faith Nestleroad contributed nine digs and seven kills.
Lydia Brewer also recorded ten digs, seven kills and nine assists. Others aiding the Lady Archer cause were Emma Townley (three digs, one ace), Jillian Treece (eight digs, two kills, one ace) and Katryna Fish (five digs, one block, one kill).
Seniors wearing the Antwerp volleyball uniform for the final time were Faith Nestleroad, Grace Schuette, Astianna Coppes, Maddie Smith and Lydia Brewer.
