HAVILAND, OH:
Richard “Rick” Lynn Speakman, age 71, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his home in Haviland, OH.
Rick was born on January 23, 1950 to the late Harold and Almeda (Decker) Speakman in Van Wert, OH. On September 2, 1989, he married Sharon Farr, who survives. For 12 years, he worked as the Head of Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance for Marsh Foundation in Van Wert, OH. He also worked in Class A Truck Sales at Columbus Kenworth for 25 years. Rick was also a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served during the Vietnam War.
Rick is also survived by his children: Richard Scott Speakman, Stacy (Greg) Dalton, Brandy Lynn Speakman; stepchildren: Lisa (Ernie) Ladd, Jim (Susan) Farr, Richard (Melanie) Farr; siblings: Shelly Ball, Vicki (Ron) Massey, John (Helen) Speakman; 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Rick is also preceded in death by his brothers, Terry and Kelly Speakman.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Den Herder Funeral Home. Private family entombment will be held at Concordia Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN.
Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. until time of services on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Den Herder Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Rick’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
