Antwerp Local School recently donated over $1,000 to Christmas for Kids after a friendly competition involving the teachers.
Students could put money into teacher bins, and the “winning” teacher had to kiss a pig. To help generate more funds, third grade teacher Jared Eklund agreed to wear lipstick when kissing the pig if students reached the goal of $1,000. Students met the goal, so on Thursday, December 9th, Mr. Eklund kissed the pig on the morning announcements, which can be viewed on the ALSTV Archers Live YouTube channel.
Antwerp Local School would like to give a shout out to the student council for sponsoring this fundraiser, everyone who donated to Christmas for Kids, Mr. Eklund for his willing involvement, and the Maag family for allowing the school to use one of their piglets for the event.
