Hank Keiss of Cross Border Partners spoke to the Heritage Lions on Tuesday night, March 8th. Cross Border Partners is an organization that receives donations of money, furniture, bedding, dinnerware and many other household items that are needed by the poor and needy of Allen County. He explained the history of the organization and how they started with very little. Several unexpected and extraordinary events happened that helped them to grow into the self-sustaining organization they are today.
Volunteers, most of them elderly, pitch in to sort clothes, pick up donations and deliver items to recipients that have been screened by some 22 social service agencies. The organization can always use more volunteers, and donations are always welcome. Mr. Keiss several times expressed gratitude to God for the amazing things that occurred over the past 19 years. It felt like Grace from above.
