Brown Township, Paulding County, Ohio—On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 2:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the Sherman Cemetery at the intersection of Rd 179 & Rd 140, for a deceased male body discovered in the western portion of the cemetery.
Today, March 30, 2022, Investigators were able to confirm the identity of the deceased man found in the cemetery as 29-year-old Jared J. Hernandez from Defiance, Ohio.
“Officials did not rule on a cause of death today after the autopsy. They will await the findings of the toxicology testing before coming to a conclusion, which could be several months,” said Sheriff Jason K. Landers. “We will continue to talk with family, friends and associates of Jared, and follow any leads that come into the office. He did not die at the scene. We need answers as to where and why he died and who put him there.”
