John Paulding Historical Society will host a general meeting and program at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24. The meeting is open to all.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Kelly Taylor from Paulding County Carnegie Library. She will present information about the library’s impressive resources for local history and genealogy research, including vertical files, special collections, obituaries and access to databases.
As a library clerk and genealogy specialist at the library, Taylor works at the circulation desk with an emphasis on assisting with patrons’ genealogy research questions. In her 24 years at the library, she has learned a lot about Paulding County’s history and has become the “go-to” person for help in locating and navigating documents and information.
The museum is located at 600 Fairground Drive in Paulding, across from the county fairgrounds.
Admission is free. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. For those who have never visited the museum, this is a perfect opportunity to learn about the organization and see some of the tens of thousands of artifacts in the museum’s collection.
Any updates or notices will be posted on the historical society’s Facebook page at facebook.com/jphsmuseum
