The cottonwood trees were right on cue this Memorial Day morn, May 30, 2022. Locals congregated along E River St. and S. Main St. as the volunteer Fire & EMS, Color Guard, Boy Scouts, and Antwerp March Band advanced toward Riverside Veterans Memorial Park.
George Hedrick led the ceremony followed by presentations by American Legion, VFW and Boy Scouts. Paulding County Commissioner and local military historian, Mark Holtsberry, gave reflective speech about the fallen of Paulding County and how often do we stop to remember them?
