On Thursday, May 12, the Fairview FFA Chapter held its annual petting zoo for elementary students. There were many different learning activities, animals, and fun things to enjoy for the younger students. The petting zoo began at about 8:30 when classes started their tour.
There were tour guides to take each class around to their different stations along with student teachers at each station. Some of the stations the students enjoyed were a graham cracker welding station, fruit facts, fishing facts, tractor safety and information, a pollination lab, and a nail and screw activity. Along with learning activities, there were also two petting zoo portions. The animals in those were dairy feeder calves, a donkey, a pig, lambs, goats, and adult and baby rabbits. The kids got to pet and interact with all of the varying animals and learn about them from the high school students.
