2022 Paulding County 4-H Fair was a hot one! From sweltering heat and humidity to severe weather threats to fire department sprinkles for heat exhausted animals. The huge swamp fans were a great benefit to all, but especially to the furry 4-legged friends. Walking through the animal barns, fair-goers were met with animals lounging in front of the gigantic fans to stay cool. The goats were very welcoming as you can see from the photos, the ducks were a little camera shy though.
Food trucks and stands were available in all their glory from Philly cheesesteaks to Italian ice to loaded fries and funnel cakes (just look at the one pictured here!! Wow!) to tacos and quesadillas — and don’t forget the area favorite: Paulding FFA’s sausage sandwich (add egg & cheese – it’s the BEST!). Fair-goers could have the pick of the crop from this collection of delectable fair food cuisine.
The coronation of Paulding County 4-H Fair royalty took place on Monday evening following the parade. Claire Schweller and Kyle Mobley were crowned 2022 Queen and King, and Jr King was Jacob Wobler and Jr Queen Mara Philpot. Prince and Princess named were Jerrimah Sajuan and Brielle Schlatter.
The auction on Saturday was the culmination of all the 4-H members’ year of hard work and dedication. The community always comes through for these young people at the auction block.
Shout outs to Dan Howell, Mike Schweinsberg, and all the Jr. & Sr. Fairboard; and auction committee members Aaron and Lindsay Timm for all their hard work with the 4-H members and coordinating this entire week. There are many many others not mentioned by name who were essential for the functionality of this week. With the 2022 Paulding County 4-H Fair is now in the books as one of the hottest on records but always a worthwhile beginning to the summer fair season!
