ANTWERP, OH:
Jerry L. Handschy Sr., 82, of Antwerp, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in Hicksville, Ohio. He was born December 30, 1939 in Kendallville, IN, to the late Harry H. and Ethel F Handschy.
Jerry proudly served in the US Army National Guard for 8 years. Jerry was a fork lift operator at Navistar for 35 years and retired in 1997.
He is survived by his son, Jerry L. (Lisa) Handschy Jr. of Harlan, IN, daughter Brenda Handschy of Ashley, IN; brother, Monte Handschy of Fort Wayne, IN; sister Carolyn Christleib of Fort Wayne, IN; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Rex and Charles Handschy, former wife. Ada Handschy-Towns and a friend. Kathryn Bair.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5-8pm Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven, IN. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 47.
