It was a very busy week for Woodlan’s Cross Country team. There were 4 meets. Woodlan JH started the week out at the Maple Creek Grade Invite. Girls 7th grader Brooklyn Hetrick place 20th with a time of 14:44 and 8th grader Maddie Gentz placed 5th with a time of 12:42. Boys 7th grader Eli Washler placed 6th with a time of 12:20, Colt Graber placed 12th with a time of 12:36 and Malachi Thulner placed 13th with a time of 12:40. 8th grader Nathan Culler placed 18th with a time of 12:08 in his race. For some of the JH runners, this was their very first cross country meet.
Woodlan’s HS team ran at the Bellmont Invite. Both the women and men’s team finished 4th. The women’s team was led by freshman Katy Niles in 4th place with a time of 21:34, Mae Emenhiser finished 9th with a time of 21:55 and Cara Chen finished 20th with a time of 23:26. The men’s team was led by Senior Carter Hohenbrink in 6th place with a time of 17:54, Nate Lockridge finished 12th with a time if 18:30 and Brady Garrison finished 16th with a time of 18:50.
Thursday night JH had their 2nd meet of the week, at the JH Bellmont Relay Invite. Brooklyn Hetrick and Maddie Gentz placed 4th and Eli Washler and Nathan Culler also finished 4th.
Saturday, both HS and JH competed at the Northfield Invitational. HS ladies took first place where the HS men’s team took 2nd by 3 points. The ladies were led by Katy Niles in 4th place with a time of 21:08, Mae Emenhiser in 5th place with a time of 21:15, Cara Chen in 9th place with a time of 23:28, Grace Martin in 16th place with a time of 24:15, Morgan Miller in 19th place with a time of 25:11, Riley Zent in 23rd place with and time of 25:45 and Bethany Lockridge in 27th place with a time of 26:08. The HS men’s team was led by Carter Hohenbrink in 5th place with a time of 18:15, Nate Lockridge in 6th place with time of 18:25, Ryan Hubbart in 17th place with a time of 20:12, Collin Klepper in 21st place with a time of 20:27, Johnathan Baxter in 25th place with a time of 21:06, Cooper McDaniel in 32nd place with a time of 23:08 and Caleb Palmer in 47th place with a time of 23:08. JH girls took 4th place and JH boys took 3rd place. The girls were led by Maddie Gentz in 3rd place with a time of 12:48, Brooklyn Hetrick was 14th with a time of 14:49, Lenae Lothamer was 22nd place with a time of 15:41, Findley Harnish was 29th place with time of 16:18, Addy Carter was 35th place with time of 17:07, Addisyn Gentz was in 37th place with a time of 17:23 and Lexi Ice was 38th place with a time of 17:25. The boys team was led by Eli Washler in 5th place with a time of 12:19, Malachi Thulner was 10th place with a time of 12:32, Nathan Culler was 12th place with a time of 12:54, Robert Kimpel was 34th place with a time of 14:23, Cruz Lipscomb was 37th place with a time of 14:41, Ayden Detrick was 39th place with a time of 14:54 and Stephen Pavelek was 52nd place with a time of 16:07.
