The Woodburn Christian Children’s Home has been blessed by the community with the annual fundraiser auction that took place on Saturday, October 8 at Woodlan High School. The 17th Annual Benefit Auction and dinner is the main fundraiser for the non-profit organization to ensure the best education and training for the children that have come from less than ideal circumstances.
The motto for WCCH is “WE DON’T RAISE VICTIMS, WE RAISE OVERCOMERS!” and that is so true with the focus on doing the will of God in taking care of orphans. Joe Heins, Executive Director, stated “Wow and Wow! The Benefit auction was a huge success!”
The support in the of doing God’s work is a reflection on the community values. The children’s home, located on Notestine Road, does not take any government monies, meaning is entirely supported by those who believe in the work of doing good.
This year the auction, by Jerry Ehle and Schrader Auctioneers, raised a total of $148,550, an increase of over 22% over the auction in 2021. Since 2016 (excluding 2020) has raised over $600,000 for the continuation of service.
There were many people who made this possible. Churches and organizations alon gwith individuals from all over the tri-state region gave their time and money to make this possible and is very much appreciated. Heins thanked the volunteers and organizers by saying, “Your fervent prayer and tireless efforts resulted in a fun-filled experience that was blessed with generosity and goodwill.”
