PAULDING, OH:
Floyd L. Slane, age 89, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at the Gardens of Paulding.
Floyd was born on March 28, 1933 in Paulding Co., OH to the late Rev. John and Maude (Davis) Slane. On February 9, 1963 he married Darlene Klingler, who preceded him in death on December 25, 2022. Floyd was a millwright by trade and worked for various businesses in the local area for many years. He was a member of the Rod and Gun Club and loved to build model airplanes and boats.
Floyd is survived by his children: Carla (Steve) Wittenmyer, Arlington, OH; Katherine (Raul) Vielma, Paulding, OH; Russell Slane, Oakwood, OH; Rick (Cindy) Slane, West Unity, OH; Darla (Joe) Meyer, Defiance, OH; Colleen Fulton, Sherwood, OH; son-in-law, Louis Beregszazi, Antwerp, OH; sister, Mildred Elston, Payne, OH; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Floyd is also preceded in death by his daughters, Lisa R. Beregszazi and Lora Michaelis; sisters, Betty Manz and Inez Rose.
Graveside service for both Darlene and Floyd will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 4, 2022 with Pastor Todd Murray officiating at Wiltsie Cemetery, Payne.
