PAULDING – Peyton Adams scored 17 points to lead the Paulding Panthers to a 55-42 victory over visiting Delphos Jefferson in non-league boys basketball action Saturday night.
Paulding held a slim 16-14 lead at the end of one period before widening the margin in the second stanza. The maroon and white picked up 16 points in the second quarter while limiting the Wildcats to seven in extending the margin to 32-21 at the intermission.
Delphos Jefferson trimmed the deficit in the third quarter, getting nine points in the period compared to Paulding’s eight as the Wildcats pulled within 40-30 at the end of three periods.
The Panthers wrapped up the victory in the final quarter, scoring 15 points while holding the Wildcats to a dozen as Paulding cruised to the 55-42 win.
Ethan Foltz added 14 markers and Nick Manz chipped in ten for the maroon and white, which also got eight points from Isaac Reeb. Luke Zartman and Casey Agler recorded four and two markers, respectively, as Paulding improves to 7-6 on the season.
Trent Teman scored 14 points to pace Delphos Jefferson and Andrew Miller finished with ten markers for the Wildcats, who fall to 6-7 overall.
Karder Agner (eight), Levi Rode (four), Cody Bailey (three) and Isaac Gallmeier (three) completed the scoring for Delphos Jefferson.
Paulding’s junior varsity posted a 35-20 victory over the Wildcats.
