ANTWERP, OH:
Stephan E. Knapp, 75, of Antwerp, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 peacefully at his home with his family around him.
Steve was born in Harlan, Indiana on January 30, 1948, a son of the late Mary (Sunday) & Ross Knapp. Steve was the youngest of 8 siblings.
He was always loyal to his work at Dana Weatherhead, Defiance Precision Products, Cooper Tools, and most recently, The West Bend News. Most of all he dedicated his life to Christ and his family.
In the last handful of years, Steve got a lot of his enjoyment “solving the world’s problems” with his buddies, sitting around having coffee at the Sunoco in Antwerp.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sue, to whom he was married to July 22, 1967; children, Mike (Lisa) of Antwerp, Michelle (Russ) Grant of Hicksville, Shawn (Amy) of Salt Lake City, Utah, & Troy (Eshell) of Knoxville, Tennesse; sister, Donna (Max) Timbrook of Mitchell, Indiana; 18 grandchildren; & 8 great grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Mary; brothers, Bill, Larry, & John “Butch” Knapp; & sisters Betty Hissong, Lou Payne, & Judy Gray.
Viewing is Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 4-7 PM, at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W River St, Antwerp, Ohio 45813.
Service is Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 10:30 AM, with viewing one hour prior at the funeral home.
He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
