GARRETT – Woodlan saw its season come to a close Saturday as the Warriors dropped a 58-48 decision to Concordia at Garrett High School.
The Cadets posted a 14-13 lead at the end of eight minutes of action before taking control in the second stanza.
Concordia picked up 15 markers in the period while limiting the Warriors to six as the Cadets expanded the lead to 29-19 at the intermission.
In the third quarter, Concordia again widened the gap by scoring 17 points compared to Woodlan’s 14 as the Cadets took a 46-33 lead into the final period.
Woodlan won the fourth quarter 15-12 but it wasn’t enough as the Warriors fell to the Cadets 58-48.
The contest was the final time to put on a Woodlan boys basketball uniform for the senior quartet of Ethan Klepper, Dawson Lichty, Alex Miller and DeJay Gerig.
Gerig tied for the team high with 13 points in the contest while posting a double-double with ten rebounds as well. Lichty chipped in four markers and three rebounds with Miller recording nine markers, eight rebounds and an assist. Gerig had an assist as well for the Warriors.
Braden Smith chipped in 13 markers for Woodlan and added four rebounds, three assists and one steal. Trey Yoder contributed seven points, 11 rebounds and one assist while Lincoln Sparks posted two points, two rebounds and four assists.
Woodlan concludes the season with a record of 19-6 overall.
