Hicksville Schools will be welcoming an Artist in Residence thanks to a grant from The Ohio Arts Council. Ms. Klaire Smith will be partnering with the school art program and working directly with art teachers Mr. Chris Gaghan and Mr. Joey Stevenson. Ms. Smith will spend 20 days with students during art classes and will also spend time with 21st Century After-School Program students. Ms. Smith is from southern Ohio and graduated in 2016 from the University of Rio Grande with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree. She is a multimedia artist who specializes in murals. Prior to her arrival and throughout her residency, Ms. Smith will be working on design aspects of a mural that will be ready for public viewing at the Spring Art Show.
