God’s Word calls us to “worship in spirit and truth” in John 4:24. Worship can be defined as “extravagant respect, or admiration for, or devotion to an object of esteem”. As Christians we worship our Lord in many ways, but the most common way is through songs of praise and adoration. Did you know there are other ways to offer up your worship to God? Some other areas are in the family, in the arts, and in the spirit. Branch Christian Fellowship in Paulding Ohio would like to invite ladies to come and join other women in the community to learn how we can go deeper in worship on Saturday April 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This event is free and open to ladies of the community. We will have a short break and there will be refreshments offered midway through the seminar. There will be a time of praise and worship and 4 speakers will be talking on 4 different areas of worship. Bring your friends and come and enjoy a day of worship with other ladies seeking to worship our Lord.
Penny Duer will be speaking on worship in the family. She has been involved in worship ministry for over 45 years in various churches around the area. She is currently one of the worship leaders at Empower Church and her desire is to know Him more, and lead others to walk in faith, not by sight. Penny is the wife of 25 years to Craig Duer, mother of 4 children and grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She believes Family is the most precious gift, besides our salvation, that God so graciously gives us.
Lisa Sproul will be speaking on worship in the spirit. Lisa, a Liberty University graduate serves as a clinical nutritionist, wife, homeschooling mother, and grandmother. Through counseling, social media, her blog, and as a contributing writing and guest to various podcasts she encourages the faith walk of women. Her ministry, The Purposed Driven Wife, ministers to women in crisis, providing spiritual wisdom and tangible helps in Jesus’ name. She is a beggar showing other beggars where to find bread.
Holly Workman will be leading us in a time of praise and worship and then will speak on worship in song. Holly has been a hard worker School Custodian with Defiance city schools for 15 years, and an LMT for 8 years. She has been singing since she was a young girl and writing her own songs since high-school. She has been in several Christian worship bands as well as singing in weddings and funerals over the years. Holly has 2 adult boys and 3 stepchildren and between them, together with her husband they have 13 grandchildren. She enjoys candle making, spending time with her grandbabies and spreading hope and joy through the gift of song that God has blessed her with.
