The dates are fast approaching for the NO Compromise! History of the Reservoir War of 1887 Mystery Dinner Theater. Did you know that there are several dynamiter descendants still living in Paulding County (Antwerp specifically) of these infamous Dynamiters from the Reservoir War? Ask around — know any Harrmann’s? Zuber’s? Champion’s? Applegate’s? Some very familiar faces will be starring in this production: Sheriff Jason Landers plays the part of Sheriff Parr. Bryce Steiner (Antwerp Village Councilmen) plays the newspaper man, Ed Osborn. Jerrett Godeke, Antwerp Alumni and history major, plays the dastardly C.A. Flickinger (from Defiance [ptooey]) of the State Board of Public Works, along with Pastor Michael Schneider as his accomplice, Crowe. Max Hibbard joins the cast as Ohio Gov. John Foraker, and Dennis Jackson portrays General Bunker. Some of the dynamiters include Tim and Renee Boss (playing Oliver and Emily Applegate), PC Commissioner Mark Holtsberry, Walter Lang, Cindy Kauser, Justin Boss (as Worden “Henry” Sperry), and Tyler Boss (as Private Reeves), Pastor Ian Ferguson (as John Paulding), Paulding Mayor Greg White (as Frank Lamb), Jay Dachenhaus (as Dr. Bazali), the Bargain Bin ladies — Eileen Kochensparger and Rhonda Smalley, Scott Strahley as Rev. McCluskey, and many other familiar faces are all a part of this local historical event. Paulding County resident historian, Jane Nice, wrote this play, and Renee Boss is directing the performance.
This history will be told in a dinner theater format on April 14, 15, and 16 at 7:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. on the 16th) at the Antwerp Global Methodist Church, located at 202 E River St., Antwerp, OH.
Last chance to reserve your spot, learn some history, maybe get a few laughs or chuckles and support the Antwerp Chamber of Commerce’s fundraising efforts to commission a Mural on an Antwerp business wall. This mural project is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2023. Contact Petals & Vines, West Bend News or Paulding Chamber office today!
