Derek Hines posted two hits and drove in three runs while Ethan Lichty added three hits to lead the Antwerp Archers to a 6-4 win over rival Wayne Trace at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne Wednesday night in high school baseball action.
Hines finished with a single and a double for the Archers with Lichty recording two singles and a double while also scoring once and driving in two runs.
Antwerp scored first, picking up a single run in the top of the second, but Wayne Trace answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning for a 2-1 advantage. After the Archers picked up another run in the top of the third to tie the game at 2-2, the Raiders scored twice in the bottom of the frame to go in front 4-2.
The Archers, though, plated three runs in the top of the fifth and added another one in the sixth to record the 6-4 victory.
Picking up the win on the mound was Parker Moore, who three four innings surrendering three hits and two walks while striking out three. Ethan Lichty tossed the remaining three innings allowing five hits, four runs (three earned) and one walk while striking out three.
Moore, Carson Altimus and Reid Lichty all scored a run for the Archers with Camden Fuller scoring twice. Reid Lichty and Fuller each added a single as well.
Kyle Forrer and Cale Winans each tripled for Wayne Trace with Tyler Davis adding a single and a double. Evan Crosby, Kyle Slade, Brady Miller and Breven Anderson posted a single apiece for the Raiders. Anderson, Winans, Slade and Forrer scored runs for the red, white and blue with Winans, Slade, Forrer and Crosby driving in runs.
