ANTWERP, OH:
Suzanne (Langham) Montgomery, 75, of Antwerp, passed away surrounded by her family after battling cancer on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice.
Suzanne was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 9, 1947, daughter of the late Isabell (Sunday) & Wilbur Langham.
She graduated from Antwerp High School in 1965 where she displayed an infectious spirit as both a varsity cheerleader and head majorette in the band all four years of her schooling.
After high school, Suzanne pursued her passion for teaching by earning her Bachelors degree from Ball State University in teaching. After completing her Bachelor’s, Suzanne went on to earn her Master’s degree from Xavier University which further fueled her love for teaching. Suzanne even authored an education book call Basic Skills Program that is used in schools nationwide.
Beyond teaching, Suzanne had several hobbies that brought joy into her life. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and also found solace playing the piano, tending to plants in her garden and keeping her mind active with crossword puzzles. Suzanne could often be found watching NASCAR, cheering on her favorite driver, Joey Logano, or watching old western movies on TV.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Donene (Grant) Masters & Toni Ann Chance; brother, Tony (Kay) Langham; grandchildren, Jesse, Rachel, Austin, & Annie; & great grandchildren, Scotty & Lilly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Montgomery.
She will be laid to rest privately.
