DEFIANCE, OH:
On May 27, 2023 our beloved Bobbie Jo Yocum was unexpectedly called to ride down the streets of gold to meet Jesus, followed by dinner with Marilyn Monroe then some shopping to find the perfect ‘70’s retro curtain because, well, quite frankly, they don’t exist here.
Bobbie Jo, 51 of Defiance, Ohio was born on July 23, 1971. She was known in the craft shows as the Crazy Snap Lady, for the snap jewelry she sold. She was always busy, with work or figuring out which funky glasses she was going to wear and with what cute outfit day to day, Bobbie Jo worked in Law Enforcement under the “amazing boss, Stan Owens“ for a couple decades. She moved to call Defiance home in 2017 and found her current position as Deputy Recorder where her amazing coworkers became her new home.
Bobbie Jo didn’t use the word step. They were your family. In addition to her amazing parents, Don and Shirley Clemens of Briceton, Bobbie Jo is survived by her loving husband Chris Yocum, Defiance Ohio, Daughter Tawni Ridgeway and her son Jayce Buerhle of Fremont Ohio, daughter Abby & Jordan Keirns of Van Wert Ohio, son Zayne Yocum of Wauseon Ohio, and daughter Jayde Garcia of Defiance, Ohio. Her sister Lora Clemens of Atlanta, Georgia, her Brother Trent and Stacy Clemens of Fort Wayne all of whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. Bobbie Jo also leaves behind Princess Tilley, Master Kane, Big Baby Drake, and several grand dogs and the recipe for their homemade dog food. (Thank God)
If you knew Bobbie Jo in any capacity, you loved her. She was an amazing and loving daughter, sister, mother, wife and friend. She was a giver – she found joy in helping others and making others smile, feel important and valued. Bobbie Jo was happy to write an awesome review of a new restaurant, to announce an amazing service, share one of her delicious recipes and tell her friends how “smoking hot” they are. She was honest and pure with a quick witted sass that we all loved and cherish. Bobbie Jo’s heart was as big and boisterous as her laugh was. Her words were kind and soft and at the same time, she had no problem telling you how it is with the most colorful verbiage. She was fearless, adventurous, full of joy and loved life. She loved the smell of the air and the freedom of riding her Harley- even in the rain- she wanted to, and did, ride.
Please join us at Den Herder Funeral Home 1000 West Wayne Street in Paulding Ohio on Saturday June 3rd 2023 from 11:00-3:00 PM to celebrate the boujee life of Bobbie Jo. Afterwards we will move to the VFW in Paulding for a meal. Come with fun/memorable stories to share with the family. Bobbie Jo would want donations made to the American Alzheimer’s Association to honor her mother, in lieu of flowers. There will be no viewing because she ran out of lip stain.
