At its upcoming statewide Conference and Awards Celebration, the Ohio Educational Library Media Association (OELMA), Ohio’s professional association for K-12 school librarians, will recognize the recipients of the 2023 READ On! Ohio Award for Children & Teens.
The award celebrates enthusiastic readers nominated by school and public librarians in the following categories: primary (K-2); intermediate (3-5); middle (6-8); and high (9-12) and regions: SE, SW, NE, and NW. This year marks the eighth year READ On! Ohio has been awarded.
OELMA is pleased to announce that Ella Zimmerman, a student in Paulding Exempted Village Schools, is a recipient of this award. Susan Deatrick nominated Ella because she is an enthusiastic reader and is very helpful.
Ms. Deatrick cited one example when Ella helped with a snowman program for the younger children and she dressed up as a snowman. She is always eager to help and give her recommendations for books to read. Ella is an inspiration to her sister and everyone she knows.
Congratulations to Ella and to Paulding Exempted Village Schools and to the Paulding County Carnegie Library for cultivating a passion for reading in its students.
Ella will be recognized at the 2023 OELMA Conference and Awards Ceremony, October 6, 2023, at OCLC, 6565 Kilgour Place, Dublin, OH.
