Paulding County celebrated two professional and amazing women this past week.
Marsha Yeutter, executive director of the Paulding County Senior Center started way back at the turn of the century working as the five county Senior Center Coordinator in Defiance, and managed that position for 14 years before coming solely to Paulding County. It was on June 28 that the county, her friends and family came together and celebrated all of her work and accomplishments to make this a great place for all the elderly families.
Marsha stated that they currently produce about 200 meals per day for in house and outside the facility which includes NOCAC’s summer program and Meals on Wheels. There are about 14 employees that she manages which includes all the drivers for Meals on Wheels. The nine drivers do not only deliver food but also helps those who can’t drive to the grocery store or to the Senior Center to spend time with others for games and other social events.
Marsha intends to slow down a little and take a vacation to Branson, MO before starting part-time as a paraprofessional at Good Samaritan School in Defiance. Her last day at the Senior Center is July 7, 2023.
Kari Morhart is taking the reins from Marsha in the position of Executive Director after working for nearly two years as an Activity Director for Laurels of DeKalb. Kari stated, “We are a welcoming place with Friends – a home away from home.” as she helped prepare for the party. Her qualifications speak of each stepping stone job in the past that has lead to this position. “I just love working with the elderly, and I have a passion for their events,” continued Kari, “This might be the best part of people’s lives to see the light and be welcomed in our community.”
Kari said that this position is perfect for her because she can be closer to her children that attend school in Paulding.
With Kari taking the helm at the Senior Center, everyone can be assured it will be in good hands just as it was with Marsha!
