EDON – Antwerp made the trip to Williams County Friday night where the Archers pulled away for a 54-24 victory over Edon.
Carson Altimus completed 18 of 25 passes for 293 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Archers to the victory. The senior signal-caller also ran for a score and totaled ten rushing yards.
Camden Fuller led the Archer receivers with seven receptions totaling 139 yards and three scores while Landon Brewer picked up seven catches for 97 yards and one touchdown.
Reid Lichty caught three passes for 20 yards and led the blue and white with 120 rushing yards on 18 attempts, including one touchdown.
Both teams scored 16 first quarter points and the two teams were tied at 24-24 in the final three minutes of the first half. However, Antwerp scored a pair of touchdowns in the last two minutes to take a 40-24 halftime advantage. The Archers put the game away with two more scores in the third quarter to set the final margin at 54-24.
Antwerp finished the night with 438 yards of total offense with Edon totaling 267.
Keegan Gray-Wyckoff and Cohen Hitzeman each had a sack for the Antwerp defense with Gray-Wyckoff recording two tackles for a loss. Derek Hines, Altimus and Dayne Sholl also had a tackle for a loss for the blue and white. Altimus had an interception for the Archer defense as well.
Dayne Sholl topped the blue and white with seven tackles while Fuller, Gray-Wyckoff and Syris Gale finished with five stops apiece.
