WOODBURN – Junior Ty Louden was 22 of 32 through the air for 262 yards with four touchdowns to lead the Woodlan Warriors to a 30-16 victory over visiting Central Noble in Friday night non-league football action.
Louden’s top target on the night was senior Braden Smith, who hauled in nine catches for 164 yards and all four scores. Jayse Kuntz added five receptions for with senior Luke Meyer picking up two receptions.
Carter Fleek, Drew Fleek and Mason Moore all had one catch as well for Woodlan, which evens its overall record at 1-1 on the season.
Drew Fleek ran for 104 yards on 20 carries with Louden picking up 19 yards on six tries.
Defensively, Carter Fleek topped Woodlan with ten stops on the night while senior Grant Frecker added eight tackles. Junior Drew Fleek also totaled six tackles for the Warriors with Smith and Jack Culler picking up five stops.
Nicholas Piedra had the lone Warrior sack on the night.
The Woodlan defense recorded three interceptions in the contest as senior Riley VanCamp picked off two Cougar passes and Jayse Kurtz added one interception.
Vinny Bottoms recorded an extra point kick and a 35-yard field goal for the Warriors with Drew Fleek getting two extra point kick conversions.
Woodlan opens ACAC football action on Friday in its annual rivalry game with Heritage as the Warriors visit Monroeville. The Patriots are 2-0 on the season following wins at Bellmont (34-0) and over Fairfield (39-13).
