WOODBURN, IN:
David F. Nahrwold D.V.M., 69, of Woodburn, passed away on Wednesday, October 4th at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, following a valiant battle with cancer. His faith in Jesus Christ assured him that his spirit and soul are already in heaven awaiting the resurrection of his body on the last day.
Dr. Nahrwold was born in Fort Wayne on January 28, 1954, a son of the late Norma P. (Werling) and Fred C. Nahrwold.
He practiced veterinary medicine for 45 years, 35 of which were at his practice, Maumee Valley Veterinary Clinic in Woodburn. Along with being dedicated to his veterinary clients, he never lost sight of the importance of his faith in God and the love he had for his family. Dr. Nahrwold also loved fishing with his grandkids, working in his garden, and raising fruit trees.
Dr. Nahrwold will be missed by his wife, Elaine (Lund); children, Elisabeth (Jonathan) Held, Stephanie (Donald, M.D.) Fahler and Seth (Becky) Nahrwold, DVM; siblings, Rhonda (Fred) Rasdorf, Curtis (Karen) Nahrwold, Susan (Ramon) Laughbaum & Carol Nahrwold; grandchildren, Nathaniel Held, Evelyn Fahler, Elyse Nahrwold, Anna Held, Zachary Nahrwold, Ruth Fahler & Lydia Nahrwold.
His funeral service is Monday, October 9th, 11 am at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8811 Saint Joe Rd, Fort Wayne, with viewing one hour prior.
Viewing is also Sunday, October 8th, from 2-6 pm at Ascension Lutheran Church. He will be laid to rest at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ossian.
