The Paulding FFA Chapter’s Food Science and Technology career development event (CDE) team did a tremendous job at the district competition.
The Food Science and Technology CDE requires students to have an in-depth understanding of food product development, presentation, and food safety issues. Participants use their sensory skills to solve problems and make sound decisions.
The members also memorized countless conversions to complete the math portion and answer food industry-based problems. After many hours of early-morning practice and preparation, the team came out in the top 2 in the district.
The team placed 2nd to advance to the State Competition on January 13th in Columbus, Ohio at OSU. Team members are seniors Jamy Hunt and Maci Kauser, junior Grace Goyings, and sophomore Xander Bartley. Individually, Jamy placed 1st, Grace placed 6th, Xander placed 10th, and Maci placed 12th.
This team of go-getters has made the Paulding FFA Chapter very proud. Congrats to all of these members, and good luck at the state competition!
