HICKSVILLE, OH
Susan A. (Gillen) Cole, age 71, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at her home in Hicksville, OH.
Susan was born on November 1, 1952 to the late William and Eileen (Strabele) Gillen in Paulding, OH. On February 11, 1983 she married David J. Cole, who preceded her in death on August 27, 2023. Susan was a nurse manager at Paulding County Hospital for 18 years. She was also a court reporter in Defiance and Putnam counties. Susan loved to travel. During her life, she visited 18 countries, even working in Juarez, Mexico for two summers.
Susan will be lovingly missed by her son, Dustin Cole, Hicksville, OH; adopted daughter, Billie Jo Moore, Hicksville, OH; stepson, DeeJay (Christen) Cole, Junction City, KS; stepdaughter, LenaRose (Cort) Jensen, OK; brother, Jon Gillen, Chillicothe, OH; sister, Kerry (Steve) Rauch, Auburn, IN; grandchildren: Aiden and Hunter Cole, Karson and Kaylynn Crites, Rylynn and Henry Hudson.
Susan was also preceded in death by her brother, Frank Gillen and sister, Gerry Krynock.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Den Herder Funeral Home. There will be a rosary service beginning at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville, OH.
