WOODBURN, IN:
Myrtle Irene Rekeweg, 97, formerly of Woodburn, Indiana passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Vancrest of Payne.
Myrtle was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 14, 1926, a daughter of Myrtle (Heath) and Charles Saurer.
She retired from Woodburn Diamond Die. She always cherished the time she spent at Barton Lake in Orland, Indiana. Her family will always remember her lively spirit and love of dancing.
Myrtle will be sadly missed by her children, Joy Messmann, Margie (Dan) Gordon & Marsha (Mike) Rohrs; daughter-in-law, Linda Messmann; 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Glenn Messmann and Irvin Rekeweg; children, David, Richard (Jean) and Joe Messmann.
Viewing is Monday, Feb. 12th, 9 – 10:15 AM, with her funeral service at 10:30 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St, Woodburn, IN 46797.
She will be laid to rest in Bowers Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
