The Paulding FFA Chapter’s Food Science Technology team did a great job at the state competition.
The Food Science Technology CDE requires students to have an in-depth understanding of food product development, presentation, and food safety issues. Participants use their sensory skills to solve problems and make sound decisions.
The members also memorized countless conversions to complete the math portion and answer food industry-based problems. After many hours of early-morning practice and preparation, the team got to travel to Columbus to compete in the state competition on January 13th. Team members are seniors Jamy Hunt and Maci Kauser, junior Grace Goyings, and sophomore Xander Bartley.
At state, they placed 7th as a team out of 25. Jamy Hunt placed 7th as an individual out of 83. Congrats to all of these members and their accomplishments.
