The new building project for the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry was ready for its interior walls to be painted. In two days, volunteers paint all 3,840 square feet of the newly constructed space!
“It all came together quickly,” said Jodi Schneider, executive director. “We put the word out and within a little more than a week, we had nearly 40 volunteers step forward. The painting was done in just two days!”
The pantry team received the go ahead from the contractor, Hartzog Construction, on Thursday, Jan. 25. By Wednesday, Jan. 31, the prep, priming and ceiling paint was complete — thanks to the donation of Krynock Brothers Construction. Volunteer crews of 4-10 people painted for 4-to-6-hour shifts on Feb. 1-2. By Saturday morning, Feb. 3, all that was left was final touch ups and clean up.
Thank you to all the painting volunteers who included:
Amber Krynock, Nathan Krynock, Will Krynock, Ellie Krynock, Caleb Krynock, Norah Krynock, Ike Andrews, Dan Olwin, Jonny Reinhard, Kyla Reinard, Tim Neer, Nova Saigo, Carol Razo, Art Razo, Laura Manz, Jennifer Shepherd, Ian Ferguson, Samuel Ferguson, Justin Tacket, Dan Bulau, Ron Sierer, Diana Sierer, Karen Manz, Dong Laukhuf, Trent Laukhuf, Scott Laukhuf, Joyce Laukhuf, Kallie Manz, Kayla Manz, Bonnie Manz, Shelby Aschliman, Ester LeMieux, Chris Bercaw, Les Manz, Mart Keck, Marge Schlatter, Nici Robinson and Jodi Schneider.
Thank you also goes to Paulding Ace Hardware and Rental for donating the use of a motorized scaffolding and discounting 41 gallons of paint.
This community effort saved about $10,000 that was redirected to cover unanticipated expenses and a long-lasting epoxy floor finish in the market areas.
The new Caring & Sharing Food Pantry will be located at 318 N. Walnut Street in Paulding. An opening date is not yet determined.
