Oakwood Library Association Events Planning Committee, hosted its Annual Fundraiser event – Chocolate Extravaganza – on Tuesday and Thursday March 12 & 14, 2024 at the Cooper Community Library in Oakwood Ohio. This year’s theme was Chocolate Royale which meant that the pomp & circumstance and royal fanfare were in high gear. This was a sold out event with a listing of people anxiously waiting in case of a cancellation. Some guests have come for a majority of the years that the committee has been planning this event (since 2006!), and have gathered such a group that they reserve 2-3 tables for one of the night’s event.
Guests were ushered into the conference room that was transformed into a royal dining hall complete with crown centerpieces upon the tables. Servers began the evening with drinks, and when the courses of chocolate began each one was brought forth with a royal announcement of trumpet sounds. Over 30 servings of a chocolate delicacies were served from brownie bites to chocolate cream puffs to a tiramisu mousse. The planning committee has recruited some young people to volunteer for the event & lead a “heads or tails” game in between chocolate courses. Most everyone left the evening with a Tupperware full of extra chocolates to eat later.
Many accolades to the Oakwood Library Association for your creativity in planning this event each year. The theme is always inspiring and unique, and the various chocolate desserts are scrumptious and palate memorable. Looking forward to next year already!
